The Knights Championship Cup has been designed an an Under 14, Under 15, Under 16 and Under 18 junior boys tournament.

Our preferred tournament structure is for 16 Melbourne clubs to enter their U14, U15, U16 and U18 teams, thus having 16 clubs represented across all age division, and 64 individual teams.

For each age division, the tournament will be split into a group stage and a knockout stage.

Group Stages.

Each age division will consist of four groups, each with four teams. Each team will play the others in their group once, thus each team will play three group stage matches, with a total of 24 matches to be played in each group stage of each age division. Each team will play for points, three points for a win, one point for a draw and no points loss. At the end of the group stages, the teams in each group will be ranked based on the amount of points they have collected in the group stage. The position a team places in the group stage dictates which knockout competition they enter.

 Knockout Stages.

The top two teams in each group stage across all age divisions will enter the Knights Championship Cup competition, while the bottom two teams in each group stage across all age divisions will enter the Knights Conference Plate competition. The knockout stages will each contain 8 teams and occur in true knockout fashion, beginning at the Quarter Final stage and ending with the Final.
